24% of the course – Use of data Written exam, 1hr 15 mins

  • Health, fitness and well-being
  • Sport psychology
  • Socio-cultural influences

Practical Performance

30% of the course

  • 3 physical activities (Internal assessment)
  • 1 team, 1 individual, 1 of student’s choice (External moderation)
  • Skills and techniques in isolation
  • Skills within a formal / competitive situation 

Personal Exercise Programme

10% of the course

  • Aim and planning analysis (Internal assessment)
  • Carrying out and monitoring the PEP (External moderation)
  • Evaluation of the PEP

If you have a passion for Sport and Physical Education this is the course for you;

  • To develop theoretical knowledge and understanding of the factors that are essential in physical activity and sport and use this knowledge and understanding to improve performance
  • To understand how physiological and psychological states affect performance in physical activity and sport
  • To perform effectively in a full range of physical activities by developing skills and techniques and selecting and using tactics, strategiess and/or compositional ideas
  • To develop the ability to analyse and evaluate to improve performance in physical activity and sport
  • To understand the contribution that physical activity and sport make to health, fitness and well-being
  • To understand the key socio-cultural influences that can affect people’s involvement in physical activity and sport

The course is taught by teachers with National and International experience in their sports.
